The first three numbers were published annually. From 1993 onwards the journal changed its name to INNOVAR, revista de sciences administrativas y sociales and publication increased to two issues annually. 25 issues have been published to date, 1,000 copies of each being printed, circulating nationally and internationally through subscription, institutional exchanges and sale to the public through commercial distributors in Colombia’s main bookshops.

The journal’s content is divided into sections made up of articles dealing with different themes such as: business culture; international management and economics; marketing techniques and publicity; entrepreneurial/business history; production management; teaching; narcotrafficking and society; industrial relationships; public administration; the environment; the human factor; accountancy; finance; costs; organisations; bibliographical debates; and reviews of current books dealing with these topics.

The content of an article is the author’s responsibility; editorial policy is open and democratic.

An author cedes his/her publication rights to the Universidad Nacional de Colombia’s Economics Faculty’s Escuela de Administración de Empresas y Contaduría Pública. Nevertheless, sending an article places INNOVAR’s publishing committee under no obligation to publish it.
