Revista Estudos Feministas is an interdisciplinary journal dedicated to enhancing the visibility of scholarly production in the vast field of feminist and gender studies in Brazil today. Housed at the Centro de Filosofia e Ciências Humanas (CFH) and at the Centro de Comunicação e Expressão (CCE) of the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, the journal hopes to foment theoretical and academic debates as well as to furnish analytical tools that might contribute to the practices of the women’s movement. The journal is published bi-annually, in Portuguese and Spanish, and contains the sections:

• Articles
• Translations of previously published theoretical articles in languages other than Portuguese and Spanish
• Interviews with distinguished researchers in the field of feminist studies
• Thematically focused dossiers on issues of current relevance to feminist scholars and activists
• Book reviews

The first issue of Revista Estudos Feministas appeared in 1992 with the sponsorship of the Ford Foundation. Since then – and counting with other sponsors, such as CNPq/Finep – its aim has been to consolidate the field of feminist and gender studies in Brazil. To offer a retrospective vision of this trajectory, a special issue in English was published in the first semester of 1999, featuring selected articles from previous volumes. Over the past 10 years, Revista Estudos Feministas has become an obligatory reference for all those who work in the field of feminist and gender studies in Brazil.

Its abbreviated title is Rev. Estud. Fem., which should be used in bibliographies, footnotes and bibliographical references and strips.

The articles published in Revista Estudos Feministas are indexed by:

Revista Estudos Feministas has the exclusive right to publish the contribution (in whole or in part), in Portuguese and/or Spanish, throughout the world, including renewals, extensions, and all subsidiary rights. The author agrees to give full bibliographical credit in the event that the author grants permission to a third party to re-use the contribution in another publication in Portuguese or translation.
