The entity responsible for the Cuadernos de Economía is the Universidad Nacional de Colombia’s School of Economics, forming part of the Economics Department - UNal. The journal’s mission is to broadcast intellectual advances in economic theory, methodology and application within a national and Latin-American academic setting.

This journal is aimed at universities, research centres, government institutions and private entities concerning themselves with studying economics, economic policy and socioeconomic development in developing countries.

The journal is published each six months and, the other hand, the journal has an ongoing submission policy.

Its abbreviated title is Ceco, and it should be used in bibliographies, footnotes, references and bibliographic strips.
