SE lang. en <![CDATA[SciELO Logo]]> <![CDATA[<B>Ethnicity, class, and party system change in Bolivia</B>]]> Within the framework of a research project on social cleavage and political parties in countries in the process of democratization, the author pauses over the case of Bolivia to show how one can measure the changes of emphasis in class to the ethnicity in the party system and, at the same time, to make an outline of a hypothesis to explain the changes in the party system. <![CDATA[<B>Constructing economic citizenship</B>: <B>the challenge of a new model of development</B>]]> From the analysis of the bases of economic growth in Bolivia in the last fifty years, the author identifies real challenges centered upon the design of creative policies from and for concrete national socio-economic realities and the urgency of micro-economic, industrial policies directed at developing a competitive and diversified economy. <![CDATA[<B>Heritage, ideology and society</B>: <B>views from Bolivia and Potosí</B>]]> The authors start with a general reflection of the concept of heritage and its polemic uses to reach, in this article, the actual case of Potosí in Bolivia, and the social conflicts that have arisen from the contradiction between its industrial identity and its recent patrimonialization.
